The UK government has approved gas production at the Jackdaw field, with output expected to peak at around 6% of domestic supply over an 11-year lifespan. Alongside the approval, the Chancellor announced a new Energy Wealth Fund seeded with £2 billion to channel North Sea revenues into renewable and low carbon energy projects.
