Energy trader D.Trading and battery optimizer Capalo AI formed a strategic partnership on Thursday to deliver bankable revenue structures for battery energy storage systems and hybrid renewable assets across Europe, D. Trading announced.  D.Trading is Ukraine’s largest private energy company, DTEK’s trading subsidiary.

The joint framework combines D.Trading’s financial balance sheet and structured offtake capability with Capalo AI’s automated multi-market optimization platform, the Capalo Zeus Virtual Power Plant.

Under the agreement, D.Trading serves as the contractual counterparty and offtaker, providing fixed revenue guarantees, floor structures and credit support. Capalo AI manages physical market access, deploying artificial intelligence to trade battery capacity across day-ahead, intraday and ancillary service markets.

The structure addresses financing hurdles for battery project developers and lenders by offering revenue predictability alongside market upside participation within a single commercial contract. The solution is designed for standalone BESS and hybrid renewable projects and supports multiple commercial structures. The integrated commercial product targets standalone battery storage projects and co-located renewable energy facilities across European power markets.
