Qatar Chamber and Manateq Discuss Industrial Sector Support

Qatar Chamber and the Economic Zones Company (Manateq) convened a joint meeting on September 7, 2026, in Doha, as reported by QNA. The session, chaired by Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Manateq Chairman and CEO Eng. Khalid bin Ahmad Al Obaidli, focused on enhancing cooperation to support the industrial sector and improve the business environment for investors.

Discussions centered on challenges facing the industrial sector, particularly those linked to Manateq, and ways to strengthen communication between the two entities to resolve obstacles for industrial investors. Sheikh Khalifa affirmed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to closer ties with Manateq and to understanding future plans for industrial and logistics zones, which are seen as vital to the growth of Qatar’s industrial sector.

Eng. Khalid noted that the meeting aimed to better grasp investor challenges and explore solutions. He emphasized Manateq’s dedication to collaborating with partners and stakeholders to foster a business environment conducive to investor growth and sustainability, positioning Manateq as a genuine partner to the private sector. He added that Manateq continues to streamline the investor journey through its Business Services Center and digital platforms, including the Partners Portal and mobile application, enabling efficient access to services and transaction tracking.

Participants raised several key topics, including the need for clearer classification between factories and workshops, supplying liquefied natural gas to small and medium-sized industries, providing affordable worker accommodation and transportation within industrial zones, proposing the establishment of a higher industrial council, and improving road infrastructure serving industrial areas.

Both sides agreed on the importance of sustained coordination and dialogue with investors and stakeholders, and committed to following up on the discussed topics to support the ongoing development of the business environment and enhance the competitiveness of Qatar’s industrial sector.
