Saudi’s PayTabs Acquires Amazon Payments MENA in USD 100M+ Deal

September 6, 2026

Saudi payment infrastructure company, PayTabs, is set to significantly expand its footprint across MENA after agreeing to acquire Amazon Payment Services’ regional payments operations in a transaction valued at more than USD 100 million.

The transaction would expand PayTabs’ regional payments infrastructure. It would also create a combined platform expected to process more than USD 40 billion (SAR 150B) annually.

Why You Should Care

The deal would give Saudi Arabia’s PayTabs a substantially larger regional payments operation, combining its existing banking connectivity, regulatory licenses, and payment infrastructure with Amazon’s MENA payments business.

For merchants and businesses, the combined platform is expected to support faster onboarding and stronger local compliance while maintaining continuity during the integration. The transaction would also deepen the concentration of payments infrastructure in a regional market that remains fragmented across providers and jurisdictions.

The Details

PayTabs and Amazon Payment Services have both approved the transaction, which is valued at more than USD 100 million. Once completed, the deal would bring Amazon’s Middle East and North Africa payments operations under PayTabs.

PayTabs has built its payments business around banking connectivity, regulatory coverage and AI-driven infrastructure. The acquisition would add Amazon’s regional payments operations to that existing infrastructure, significantly increasing the Saudi company’s scale.

The combined business is expected to process more than USD 40 billion (SAR 150B) annually. PayTabs says the resulting platform would offer proprietary end-to-end capabilities covering payment processing, automated switching and payouts.

The companies also expect the integration to cause minimal disruption, with continuity positioned as a priority. The combined operation is expected to improve onboarding and strengthen local compliance across its regional footprint.

The Ripple

The transaction could reshape competition across MENA’s payments infrastructure market by bringing two established operations together under a single regional provider.

For PayTabs, the acquisition would move its infrastructure strategy into a larger regional context and strengthen its position in Saudi Arabia and other MENA markets. For merchants and financial institutions, the larger platform could mean access to a broader payments infrastructure stack through one provider.

What to Watch

The next step is the integration of Amazon Payment Services’ MENA operations into PayTabs’ platform, with continuity and a smooth transition for customers expected to remain priorities.

The combined business will also be worth watching as it scales toward its expected SAR 150 billion in annual payment volume.
